Harrison Township Fire Department Employment Opportunity

 

The Harrison Township Fire Department is actively recruiting individuals to serve in a part time position.

Positions are non-exempt part-time permanent status and limited to 1500 hours annually.

The Harrison Township Fire Department is a paid department currently made up of 52 part time firefighters, 14 full time firefighters, 3 full time Lieutenants, 3 full time Battalion Chiefs, and 1 full time Fire Chief.

We operate out of two strategically placed stations covering a district of 7 square miles. Harrison Township is a densely populated urban environment with a population of over 22,000.

Our total response volume well exceeds 7,000 calls for service. Harrison Township is home to over 11,775 residences and over 1300 businesses.

 

Current Pay structure includes Firefighter / EMT $14.00 an hour and Paramedics at $16.00 an hour.

 

Positions open are 24 hours every sixth day and occasional employees with minimum of 24 hours per month.

 

Possibility of advancement - All Full-Time positions are filled from within

 

Minimum requirements include

-Minimum of 18 years of age

-Valid Ohio driver’s license

-Current CPR certification

-State of Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (ALS preferred)

-State of Ohio Firefighter I (Firefighter II preferred)

-GMVEMSC current protocols (Preferred)

 

EMS Only Positions available at a limited basis in which ALS providers will receive preference.
