Anthem supports the growing and important role community paramedics play in facilitating better health care delivery. In 2018, for example, Anthem became one of the
first major insurers to reimburse EMS providers for providing medically appropriate care on-site or at-home, rather than relying on transportation to the ED as basis for payment. This updated policy, known as Code A0998, represents one of several ways Anthem
is committed to advancing community paramedicine to drive more comprehensive care.
To learn more about Code A0998 and Anthem’s community paramedicine efforts, we invite you to join The Evolving Role of Community Paramedicine webinar on
January 30 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Central (2-3 p.m. ET). We hope to see you there!
