Attached are four documents to assist public safety agencies throughout the region. These reflect recent changes to CDC guidance.
- An update of Bulletin 13 on Personnel Exposures, with significant changes on return to work guidance
- An update of Bulletin 7, with the latest information on mask use
- Two similar flowcharts for use if you choose. One covers entry screening and return to work guidance for public safety personnel; the other can be used
for any other personnel in your jurisdiction. These originated from a document to be used by all City of Dayton departments, and we gratefully acknowledge their assistance, particularly that of Dayton Fire Department.
Some of the changes include:
- Added out of state travel recommendations.
- Added revised CDC guidance allowing return to work after ten days and no fever for 24 hours plus improving symptoms
- Added language to cover people who voluntarily get tested without having symptoms.
- Added that CDC recommends using the time-based strategy (ten days/24 hours) for return to work decisions and
recommends against using the test-based strategy.
- Added information about alternative diagnoses.
- Added a question to the screening document regarding close contact with a COVID-positive person.
We are also developing an FAQ document to be released soon. Thank you to all those who suggested these, or who took the time to review them for us.
