Traffic Incident Management:

Educating Clinicians to Reduce Death and Disability for Emergency Responders

Hosted by NHTSA’s Office of EMS on May 31 at 3pm ET / 12pm PT

 

Hosted by NHTSA’s Office of EMS (OEMS) in collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), this webinar will address the importance of   Traffic Incident Management (TIM) for EMS clinicians. 

EMS clinicians respond to the more than 1.5M crashes per year on America’s roadways. Traffic Incident Management training helps keep them safe from secondary crashes and the resulting death and serious injury that can occur. 

  • Lt. Meghan Quinn of the Glen Echo Fire Department shares her first-hand experience with a struck-by incident and how her service has changed training and response protocols to keep her fellow colleagues safe on the roadways.
  • The FHWA TIM Program will address the benefits of TIM for EMS clinicians and provide information about educational resources to help EMS respond to and clear traffic incidents quickly and safely.
  • Open Q&A about increasing on-scene safety and traffic incident training for the EMS community.
